Resulta que tener una mentalidad de compasión aumenta enormemente nuestra capacidad para ser padres y nuestra propia satisfacción en la vida. Nuestro objetivo es poder aliviar el sufrimiento de nuestro hijo mientras mantenemos nuestro bienestar.
Dicho de manera simple, la compasión es la preocupación por el bienestar de los demás. Incluye tanto la conciencia del sufrimiento ajeno como el deseo de aliviarlo. Al mismo tiempo que queremos aliviar el sufrimiento de otro, también entendemos que no podemos "solucionar" el dolor de otra persona.
